  • Psychodynamic therapy explores past experiences to understand current patterns of relating and to find the root of lingering hurts and needs with the aim of finding healing through insight and pattern change.

  • Emotion-focused therapy explores the felt sense of the experience rather than the cognitive thoughts with the aim of finding healing through corrective somatic experiences.

  • Cognitive- behavioral therapy explores our automatic thoughts and beliefs that negatively affect how we see ourselves, others, and the world with the aim of finding healing through cognitive and behavioral restructuring.

  • Feminist therapy examines the oppressive societal systems that is affecting one’s affect and condition with the aim of empowering the individual, enabling change, and restructuring one’s self concept.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps people by teaching them to practice mindfulness and accept what they can't control while taking values-driven action to make one’s life better. It aims to facilitate healing through mental flexibility and finding meaning to one’s life, even when dealing with difficult thoughts and emotions.

  • ADHD

    ADHD can significantly impact one's mental health by contributing to feelings of frustration, low self-esteem, and anxiety due to difficulties in concentration and organization. These challenges can potentially lead to a sense of underachievement and hinder overall emotional well-being. In our sessions, we will work together not only to create tailored strategies that help you effectively manage your symptoms but also improve your self-efficacy, enhance your confidence, and cultivate self-kindness.

  • Anxiety

    Anxiety can deeply affect one's mental health by causing persistent worry, restlessness, and physical symptoms such as rapid heartbeat and tension. The constant state of unease can diminish one’s overall quality of life, disrupt daily functioning, and strain relationships. Together, we can work on understanding and managing your triggers, developing effective coping mechanisms, cultivating a sense of emotional balance and resilience, and reconnecting to your loved ones in a more secure and gratifying way.

  • Racial and Cultural Issues

    The systemic oppression that marginalized individuals often face can have profound effects on one’s mental health,. It can create challenges related to identity, belonging, and emotional well-being. As an Asian American woman who has experienced these challenges firsthand and has worked extensively with diverse individuals, I leverage my personal and professional expertise to offer racial and cultural minorities a validating and empowering space, encouraging self-advocacy and community-building within an imperfect system.

  • Immigrant Mental Health

    Navigating the challenges of immigration to a new country often exacts a toll on mental health, as individuals grapple with cultural adjustments, isolation, complications from one’s country of origin, and the strain of adapting to unfamiliar environments. These challenges can be further compounded on if documentation is an issue. In our safe space, I can offer guidance and support to help you navigate the intricate landscape of immigration, and to help you cultivate resilience, coping strategies, and a sense of belonging.
