During our 15-minute consultation, we will briefly discuss what brings you to therapy and if I might be a good fit for your needs. If it seems that we might work, we’ll schedule a first session, an intake, to further expand our discussion.
-
Our first session will be different than all subsequent sessions. During the first session, we’ll explore your history, and needs. I may ask you about your psychological, psychiatric, personal, medical, and family history as needed. At the end of our session, we’ll have the opportunity to debrief. You can let me know if you feel it would be a good match or not. I’ll also let you know if I would be the best fit for your needs and we can decide together on the best choice for next steps. I believe that a good fit between a therapist and a client is critical in finding healing.
-
Most clients opt for weekly sessions. Especially as we are beginning our work together, meeting weekly allows us to gain traction more quickly. We can work together to set a time and frequency that works for your goals and your schedule.
-
If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you inform me at least 48 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you will be charged for the full rate of the session.
-
Payments can be made by credit card. Payment is due following each session.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
